Cumbernauld’s Cube Glass enters into partnership as lead supplier in Scotland for trendsetting French door designer

Scottish precision manufacturer Cube Glass has entered into a strategic and potentially lucrative partnership with high-end French design and engineering specialist Bel’M, maker of bespoke entrance doors.

 

The Cumbernauld-based glass and aluminium specialist will become the lead authorised supplier in Scotland of Bel’M’s extensive range of products, which combine aesthetics, innovation and technical performance.

It is the latest addition to the company’s portfolio of prestigious supplier relationships which already includes industry-recognised specialists such as Senior Architectural Systems, Metal Technology and Schüco.

 

And the new alliance comes on top of the successful completion of a £600,000 investment in a new factory – double the size of Cube Glass’s old premises – and the imminent opening of a sophisticated new showroom which will highlight the company’s expanded range.

“Bel’M offers its customers, traders and specialised distributors across the UK and Europe a wide range of multi-material entry doors that combine creativity, technology, quality and sustainable management.

 

“We had been looking for an entrance door partner for some time but none had the range we were looking for until we came into contact with Bel’M, and we will be happy to promote its products in our new showroom.”

Bel’M has four huge manufacturing plants, two in the Loire-Atlantique in western France and two north-west of Lyon in central France.

 

Cube Glass focuses on curtain walling, doors, windows, glass roofing systems and shop fronts as well as bullet, bomb and blast resistant glass. It supplies sectors including education, health, industrial, social care, commercial property and residential homes.

 

Most of the company’s sales are made to major companies such as CCG, Cruden, CM Steel and Morris and Spottiswood It is nearing completion of a major contract at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh to replace windows and doors in a contract worth in excess of £1.2 million.

 

The firm employs 14 full time staff and two apprentices and is actively recruiting to sustain growth.

Score! Scotland’s Cube Glass wins another major stadium contract at Rangers FC’s Hummel Training Centre

Innovative and sectorally-diverse glass and aluminium specialist Cube Glass has again increased its presence in the important UK stadium market with a major contract at Rangers Football Club’s state-of-the-art Hummel Training Centre.

 

The stadium arena and sports venue business has mushroomed in importance in recent years as owners and operators continue to drive awareness and maximise non-match day revenues.

 

The 38-acre Hummel Training Centre at Auchenhowie in the north of Glasgow, formerly Murray Park, was opened in 2001 at a cost of £14 million. Hummel, the Danish sportswear company, is Rangers’ kit supplier.

 

Working in association with Morris & Spottiswood, Cumbernauld-based Cube Glass installed three fire-rated Schueco screens and new double doors at the training centre, which hosts manager Steve Gerrard, his staff and the first team squad.

The company also refurbished the professional player entrance and fitted a new entrance for the Academy within the main building. The contract follows major works which it carried out at Rangers’ home ground, Ibrox Stadium.

At Ibrox, the company installed new automatic entrance doors to the Sandy Jardine Stand, formerly the Govan Stand, which runs along the side of the pitch and hosts bars and hospitality boxes. It also fitted new doors to the ticket office, corporate suites and emergency exits.

 

Cube Glass also created a specially-designed frameless glass barrier at the top of the stand which will provide protection for supported needs children while allowing them an uninterrupted view of the game from a much better vantage point than previously.

 

Fast-growing Cube Glass has already established a presence in sectors such as education health, industrial, social care, commercial property and residential homes. A cascade of recent six-figure contracts has placed the manufacturer and installer on track for another record year of sales and profits.

Cube Glass teams up with Ashleigh Building and signs new contracts totalling £130,000

Glass and aluminium specialist Cube Glass has teamed up with south-west of Scotland construction company Ashleigh Building and has kicked off the relationship with three contracts totalling £130,000 in value.

 

It is the first time that Cube Glass has worked with Ashleigh, which has offices in Prestwick and Dumfries, and the new partnership adds to the rapidly-expanding portfolio of quality clients for the Cumbernauld-based manufacturer and installer.

 

In a sector where winning business at all costs is a priority, Cube Glass adopts the unusual position of working only with clients with whom it has a sense of commercial affinity and whose corporate governance values it shares.

The first project for the new client is in Irvine, where Cube Glass is replacing existing windows, doors and building new curtain walling in an extension at the Tarryholme care home, in a deal with a value of £110,000.

 

Subsequently, it has been awarded contracts with Ashleigh for new curtain walling in Annan High Street and replacement and new curtain walls and windows at Struthers Primary School in Troon, with values of £7,000 and £13,000 respectively.

 

Mr Thorn said: “I came into contact with Ashleigh Building through hub South West, the local infrastructure partnership. I won a hub presentation and I met one of their people there and the relationship developed.”

 

The Ashleigh contracts are the latest of more than half a million pounds worth of work which Cube Glass has secured recently and its quotations are now averaging out at more than £1 million a month.

Success on success as Scotland’s Cube Glass racks up another half million in new contracts

Scotland’s Cube Glass, the innovative and rapidly expanding glass and aluminium specialist, is literally spanning the UK with a slew of lucrative new contracts from Shetland in the north to Winchester in the deep south of England.

Totalling more than half a million pounds, the latest string of successes and business wins put the Cumbernauld-based manufacturer and installer on track for another record year of sales and profits.

And the level of enquiries at the £2.75 million turnover company is also burgeoning, with quotations to an average value of £1 million a month.

Gary Thorn, Cube Glass founder and Managing Director, said: “Our growing reputation for dependability, competence, technical proficiency and business integrity is bringing in new projects from all over the country.

“At this rate we will be looking for even more production space in the near future.”

Among the new contracts are:

Lerwick Fish Market, a £7.6 million investment in a custom-designed new whitefish market at the Shetland port, where Cube Glass has contracted with Tulloch Developments to supply and fit aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling in an anodised finish to combat salt water depredation.

Value £130,000.

Doune Health Centre, a brand-new £2.7 million health centre for NHS Forth Valley where Cube Glass will create office space, practitioners’ space, a new entrance, automatic doors and curtain walling, working with Hadden Construction.

Value £77,000.

Oxgangs Young Persons Centre, where Cube Glass will work with Maxi Construction to provide accommodation, offices and an entrance for the purpose-built home situated in a residential estate in Edinburgh.

Value £35,000.

Winchester town centre, where the team is working with Cormorant Ltd to supply and install windows, doors and sliding doors in an estate of four homes – the second contract for the same local builder.

Value £70,000.

Irvine, where Cube Glass is replacing existing windows, doors and building new curtain walling in an extension at the Tarryholme care home, working with Ayrshire-based construction firm Ashleigh.

Value £110,000.
